Rep’s member, Nwachukwu decries high rate of medical quacks in Ebonyi

The Federal House of Representatives member, Eze Nwachukwu representing Ebonyi/Ohaukwu federal constituency at the weekend decried the high rate of medical quacks in Ebonyi communities.

Nwachukwu made this known while speaking to newsmen, shortly after the flag off of the widows free healthcare enrollment program that took place at the grace garden and event center in Ohaukwu Local Government area of Ebonyi State.

The federal lawmaker, Nwachukwu pinpointed that he was touched to support the programs of the governor’s wife, Mrs. Mary Maudlin Uzoamaka Nwifuru to ensure that the health of Ebonyians, especially those in the rural areas are rescued from the hands of the medical quacks in the state.

According to him: “I was thinking how to support her Excellency, because having witnessed the agony that people who fell victim of the activities of medical quacks in our communities and villages.

“I saw this program as a rescue mission and that’s why we are supporting the wife of the governor, Mrs. Mary Maudlin Uzoamaka Nwifuru.

“In the 2024 budget as part of my constituency project, I saw it that the best project is to invest in human health. And that why a sum of fifteen million has been earmarked for this program.

“And it has been approved by the house, and it’s to work through the BERWO and the office of her life, Mrs. Mary Maudlin Uzoamaka Nwifuru.

“They will ensure that there is transparency of the program, and they will ensure that it is efficient and effective” he stated
