Police applaud workers, reaffirm commitment to proactive security in Enugu

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has applauded workers across the State and Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 International Workers’ Day.

Giwa, however recognized the worker’s resilience, discipline, and invaluable contributions to peace, social stability, and economic development.

He further applauded the commitment and sacrifices of workers in the state, adding that their contributions are critical to the sustenance of peace and order in the state.

Giwa emphasized the driving growth, despite prevailing security and socio-economic challenges in the state.

He further said that a secure environment is fundamental to productivity and national progress.

The police commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to sustain proactive policing and strengthen public safety measures to ensure that workers and residents carry out their lawful activities without fear. 

He further urged workers and the general public to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and security conscious, and to promptly report suspicious activities to the Police through established channels.

The Commissioner wishes all workers a safe and rewarding Workers’ Day celebration.
