Tragedy: 21yrs-old boy allegedly kills master with Pestle in Onitsha

A 21 years old  male suspect, Chiemerie Anieke, aged 21, has allegedly used a pestle to kill his master, Mr. Ikechukwu Nwite, on the head, resulting in his death.

The Nations News reports that the suspect who also attacked his wife, Mrs. Ogechukwu Nwite, in the early hours of 15th February 2026 in Onitsha, has confessed to the crime.

 The pestle which he used to hit his master has also been recovered from the scene by security operatives..

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was allegedly provoked by the manner in which the late Ikechukwu admonished him over his bad behaviour, including pilfering money meant for the shop, staying out late at night, and taking drugs.

It was gathered that Ikechukwu’s wife was rescued and taken to the hospital, where she is currently responding to treatment.

According to the state Police  Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Tochukwu Ikenga (SP), the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka, for a comprehensive investigation and to ensure that justice is served.

The incident which happened at Fegge, Onitsha, has kept residents in fear even as they commended the Fegge Police station for the arrest of the suspect.
