We’ll not tolerate indiscipline, criminality in Al-Muhibbah varsity – Chancellor

The Chancellor of the Al-Muhibbah Open University, Aisha Bala Mohammed, on Tuesday urged the matriculation students of the university that they will not tolerate indiscipline or any act of criminal activities.
Aisha Bala Mohammed who is also the Bauchi State first lady said this during the matriculation of 365 students which was held at Ahmadu Bello International Conference.
She urged the students to focus on their studies rather than going out doing something that will not bring any development for themselves, Bauchi State and Nigeria at large.

She assured that the quality and standards put in place will be maintained at all times so that they produce graduates who are ready for the local and global market.
The Chancellor of the University commended the Board of Trustees, the Governing Council, the Management and staff for playing a significant role in strengthening the institution and providing the desired leadership.
She also urged them to keep the standard high so they can meet the level of global best practice, where service and product will know no bounds.
“As we matriculate 365 students, remember the purpose for which you are in the university. Focus on your studies and obey rules and regulations. We will not tolerate indiscipline. Open Distance and e-learning affords you the opportunity to study with flexibility, combining your studies with other activities.
“You must learn extra skills to prepare yourself for the challenges ahead. It is my prayers that you will learn, graduate and become good ambassadors of Al-Muhibbah Open University. Take your studies seriously and make your parents and sponsors proud.
While the acting vice chancellor of the University, Ibrahim Hassan expressed his appreciation to the Bauchi State Government for their generous sponsorship of 200 students.
The vice chancellor said that the gesture is not only a significant contribution to the growth of Al-Muhibbah Open University but also a model for other stakeholders to follow.
“Let us all be inspired by this example and work together to support the growth of our dear university and the expansion of our enrollment drive. Every contribution, whether it be in the form of sponsorship, mentorship, or resource sharing, plays a vital role in building a more educated and empowered Nigeria.
“You have chosen to pursue your academic dreams through open and distance learning, a mode of education that offers flexibility, accessibility, and convenience. In emergency situations like during COVID 19, or where there are insecurity challenges like banditry and kidnappings which disrupts traditional education in many places, the open and distance learning serves as a safe and viable alternative”
“We are committed to providing quality education to all, regardless of location or circumstance. Our equipped laboratories, libraries, and e-resources, including our Learning Management System (LMS) and subscribed databases, are designed to support your academic success”

He urged the students to take full advantage of the resources available to engage with their lecturers, participate in online discussions, and utilize the e-resources to enhance their learning experience.
He also advises them to emulate their lecturers and strictly adhere to the university’s policies on academic integrity, career service, and exam conduct. Remember that you are now ambassadors of Al-Muhibbah Open University and must express that ambassadorial disposition in all your interactions.
