The Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu is set to honour  seventeen Nigerians including Mrs Nella Andem Rabana, first female SAN from Cross River in this year’s yuletide homage  (Utomo Obong)

The chairman, Obong of Calabar Executive Forum, high Chief Gershom Henshaw made the disclosure in Calabar during a chat with our correspondent at the palace of the Efik king. 

He said the yuletide homage had been on for 14 years on broken using the event to unite  the Efiks both at home and in the Diaspora

Chief Henshaw while outlining events for the occasion, said that the Obong of Calabar will do the proclamation on the 15th of December this year with the award of chieftaincy title of Ada idaha ke Efik Ebrutu which will be followed by boat regatta and Royal gulf tournament in collaboration with the Calabar gulf club 

He stated that the 14 years yuletide is growing in leaps and bounds stressing that the event started with four thousand attendees and has now grown to over eleven thousand as at last year maintaining that adequate security has been put in place with the support from the state government 

Chief Henshaw also disclosed that this year’s event will be chaired by Author Jarvis, the Chancellor of Author Jarvis University in cross river and that the event been entrenched permanently in the cultural calendar of the State
