2027: Tinubu has inflicted Nigerians with pains, as such, PDP will defeat him- chairmanship aspirant
From Attah Ede, Makurdi
The National Chairmanship aspirant of the main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Conrad Utaan has said that Nigerians are already waiting for the PDP to takeover power from the ruling All Progressives Congress in 2027.
He stated that the administration of President Bola Tinubu has inflicted so much pains on Nigerians that they can no longer bear and now waiting to see PDP return to power in 2027 to salvage their sufferings.
Utaan gave this remark during his consultation meeting with members of G-14 comprising elders from the 14 Tiv speaking local government areas of Benue State held in Makurdi.
He maintained that in furtherance of preparation for the return of PDP to power, the filling stations were already campaigning against APC; the markets were also campaigning against APC.
The chairmanship aspirant promised to unite the aggrieved members of the party and work towards winning the 2027 elections and returning the party to its lost glory.
Utaan who is from Benue identified the party’s major problem as the refusal of some members to agree with one another and chart a way forward for the party.
“The problem in PDP is basically caused by some members who refused to yield to one another. As a young man, I will go round to reconcile and unite those aggrieved in the party in order for the party win the 2027.”
“Nigerians are already missing PDP and could hardly wait for PDP to return to power. Therefore, my first assignment will be to unify and reposition PDP to takeover power at all levels of government in the country comes 2027.
” PDP does not really need to campaign in 2027, all that the PDP needed to clinch power in the next election is the right candidate.
“Nigerians need an alternative and not just an alternative, but the right candidate” that would win elections and better their lot of Nigerians, he stated.
On the allegation that he ousted Iyorchia Ayu from office to take over as national chairman, Utaan explained that it was as a result of the confusion that erupted when Ayu was suspended by party officials from Ingyorov ward, Gboko LGA of the state where Ayu hails from.
“What i did was to seek for clarification by asking the court to interpret the PDP Constitution so as to save the soul of the party in the Nigeria.
“Now, lam in the race to complete the tenure of Zone B, same as Ayu. All the party needs to do is to now ratify my candidature, so that I can replace Ayu as the party chairman”, Utaan said.
Some elders, including leader of the G-14 Laha Dzever, David Amo, Atsaga Anemba and Isaac Mffo who spoke at the occasion blessed the Utaan and promised to consult with the leaders of the party in the state and relate their decision back to him.
Dzever maintained that the party needs a chairman that would ensure that PDP comes out victorious at both the state and federal level after the 2027 general elections
