.,….As door-to-door Movement Unveils 35 Vehicles in Adamawa
From Yagana Ali, Yola
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state inaugurated the Door-to-Door Movement for the President with the unveiling of 35 campaign vehicles in Yola.
The event, which attracted APC leaders, supporters and political stakeholders from different parts of the state, was aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilization and securing support for Tinubu ahead of the next presidential election.
Fintiri, who hosted the gathering, commended the people of Adamawa for their commitment to his leadership and the APC, despite the prevailing hot weather, expressing confidence that their support would translate into votes for the party across all levels in 2027.
The governor also acknowledged the contributions of the national leadership of the Door-to-Door Movement, particularly its grand patron, Oweizide Thomas Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, whose representative attended the occasion.
Fintiri said his support for Tinubu was informed by his assessment of the President’s leadership, determination and willingness to implement far-reaching reforms aimed at repositioning the country.
According to him, the President has made difficult decisions in the areas of economic management, education, healthcare and infrastructure, expressing optimism that the ongoing reforms would eventually deliver positive results for Nigerians.
“Adamawa State remains for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Asiwaju,” the governor declared, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting the President.
He added that the Federal Government’s policies had contributed to the resources available for development across Adamawa, from the state capital to rural communities, wards and villages.
The governor, however, acknowledged the economic difficulties facing Nigerians and assured residents that his administration was taking steps to ease the burden through policies and programmes designed to improve their welfare.
He explained that addressing economic hardship was a collective responsibility involving the Federal Government, state governments and local councils, stressing that resources allocated to the subnational governments must be used to meet the needs of the people.
Fintiri said his administration would continue to prioritise job creation, vocational training and support for young people seeking to establish businesses, adding that empowerment initiatives, including PAWECA, were already part of the state’s efforts to improve livelihoods.
He expressed optimism that additional programmes would be introduced before the end of the year to improve the living conditions of residents
Earlier, the grand patron of the Door-to-Door Movement, Oweizide Thomas Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, appealed to the people of Adamawa to support Tinubu for another four-year term.
Represented at the event by his brother, Tompolo said the movement was established to mobilise support for the President and engage Nigerians at the grassroots ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He described Tinubu’s decision to remove the petrol subsidy and pursue other economic reforms as difficult but necessary measures, urging Adamawa residents to give the President another opportunity to implement his policies.
“My good people of Adamawa, I beg you to give Mr President another four years to implement more good things for the state,” he appealed.
As part of the mobilization effort, Tompolo announced the donation of 35 campaign vehicles to support the movement’s door-to-door activities across Adamawa.
The vehicles are expected to strengthen the group’s outreach efforts and facilitate engagement with residents in communities across the state.
In his remarks, the Adamawa State APC Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Madagali, said the party had witnessed the impact of Tinubu’s administration through the development projects and initiatives being implemented by Governor Fintiri.
Madagali noted that the governor’s performance had helped demonstrate the relationship between the Federal Government’s policies and development efforts at the state level.
He expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects in Adamawa ahead of the 2027 presidential election, declaring that the party would work towards ensuring that opposition candidates failed to secure 25 per cent of the votes in the state.
The chairman’s remarks underscored the party’s determination to strengthen its political structure and mobilise supporters ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Also speaking, the APC governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Ahmed Tijjani Galadima, expressed confidence in the party’s position, insisting that the APC had established a strong political presence in the state.
Galadima maintained that the party remained stable and confident as it prepared for the 2027 general elections.
He expressed optimism about the party’s readiness to mobilise supporters and consolidate its political structure across Adamawa.
The inauguration of the Door-to-Door Movement, alongside the donation of 35 campaign vehicles, marked another effort by APC stakeholders to expand grassroots engagement and rally support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
