2027: Cross River will give Tinubu not less than 1.5 million votes–Betta Edu

Ex-Minister of Humanitarian and poverty alleviation, Betta Edu has said that Cross River State will give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not less than 1.5 million votes in 2027 Presidential election.

The Former Minister in an interview with the press in Calabar shortly after the pre-Congress meeting which was organized by the state Governor, Prince Bassey Otu said the meeting was timely because according to her, APC is conducting a peaceful Congress in Cross River State from  the words and the local governments.

She said it is important for all the stakeholders to come together and plan towards the next elections. 

Edu recalled what happened in  2023 Presidential election in the State as the party did not do well in the presidential election as aspect. She said more works are done to sensitize the grassroot people.

She stated that a lot of work is required to ensure that President Bola Tinubu and Senator Prince Otu wins the fourth coming elections convincingly in Cross River State. 

According to Edu, “that’s why everyone is pulling back home, going back to their words, their local government and of course the entire state to see how we can mobilize 1.5 million votes for the president in the forthcoming elections”, she stated.

Remember first INEC has released a timetable, secondly the party APC has released this timetable and finally there has been a new law signed yesterday by Mr President. 

“At this point everyone has to adjust, we need to go back to the field and do all the necessary election training, information to our people so that they know what to expect, they know that there’s an electronic transmission and should that fail they can now apply the manual write-up which would also be taken”.

“So all of this the electorate need to know it and they need to know it on time and of course there’s a lot of grassroots mobilisation that must be done before any elections and that’s why the Governor who is the leader of the party in Cross River State is putting his house together to see that we can achieve good results”.

Edu maintained that APC in Cross River is positive about winning the fourth coming elections stressing that with these preparations the party is optimistic to win at all levels and further consideration by the federal government to see that Cross River State is carried along in the hems of things, especially when it comes to the Renewed Hope Agenda. 

“We believe strongly that Cross River State will do better this time around come 2027 and we would be able to deliver 1.5 million votes to Mr President and of course to the governor and other APC candidates from top to bottom so includes the senators, the house of rep members, house of assembly members and name it”, She maintained.

“So we are getting our house in order to move out as an army united to deliver on our mandate”.  Edu said.
