2027: Christian Youths beg PDP to zone governorship seat to North, tip Mustapha

The Bauchi State Christian Youths in Politics on Wednesday urged the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to zone their 2027 governorship candidate to the northern part of the State. 

The group in a statement signed by its chairman, Jaundice James, endorsed the current Bauchi State Commissioner of rural development and social duties, Faruq Mustapha to be PDP governorship candidate in 2027.

Jondes said that group wanted Mustapha to be governor because he considered Christian in all its activities. Adding that most of his aides are Christian.

“We believe that Hon Faruq Mustapha possesses the leadership skills, vision, aura and integrity necessary to transform our state and improve the lives of the citizens”

According to the group, Mustapha has demonstrated a deep understanding of the challenges facing Bauchi State and has proposed practical solutions to address them, his quality and experience as an elite politician, banker, two term member House of representatives.

He said that Faruq Mustapha who served as Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir’s campaign director in the 2023 general election, as well as his unique character and high spirit of accommodation cutting across all the existing religious faiths.

Adding that his commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability is unwavering, “We are confident that he will work tirelessly to ensure that Bauchi state is governed in the best interests of all its citizens”

“We are impressed by Hon Faruq Mustapha’s track record of service to the community and his ability to bring people together to achieve common goals. His leadership style is characterized by inclusiveness, empathy, and a willingness to listen, which will be essential in building a government that truly serves the people”

Jondes said that if given the opportunity as Governor, Faruq Mustapha will prioritize the development of the state in terms of infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economy. He will work to create opportunities for youth, women and also ensure that the state is a place where everyone can thrive.

“It’s on these, we’re appealing to his Excellency Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed (Kauran Daular Usmaniyya) and the PDP leadership in Bauchi to consider zoning the PDP Governorship ticket to Bauchi North Senatorial, and also yield to this clarion call on Hon Faruq Mustapha as the befitting candidate, in the spirit of equity, fairness and justice.
