Xmas: United Nigeria Airlines inspects Chuba Okadigbo airport, kick-starts flight operations

The Ebonyi state government led by governor Francis Nwifuru has partnered the United Nigeria Airlines and vowed to kick-start flight operations next week to enable citizens of the state and Nigerians in general to return home safely for the Christmas festival.

The Nations News Nigeria reports that the Chuba Okadigbo airport has been certified to be of high standards and has all the required facilities that aid flight operation by the United Nigeria Airline team.

The commissioner for Aviation and transport technology Mrs Ngozi Obichukwu who spoke to newsmen during the inspection of the Chuba Okadigbo airport by the United Nigeria Airline team at Onueke, Ezza South LGA, applauded the governor, Francis Nwifuru for tackling the challenging facing the citizens of the state, especially by making flight available to citizens who wants to return for christmas festival.According to her: “They are here at the Chuba Okadigbo international airport to ascertain the level of preparedness and compliance, so that they will start lifting people, especially in this Christmas period.

“Our governor, Francis Nwifuru is seriously desirous to ensure that the people of Ebonyi State, especially those in Lagos and Abuja come home safely. That’s why he has put up a great effort to ensure that the airport runway is of international standard.

“The directors of the United Nigeria Airline, by the Grace of God, after this inspection, in the next three days, they will start lifting our people from Abuja, Lagos to Ebonyi and vas-vasa. By January 2025, the Chuba Okadigbo airport will be fully on flight operation” said. 

Responding, the HOD ground operations United Nigeria Airline, Sam Onwutuiba said: “we are sent by the top management of the United Nigeria Airways to inspect the Chuba Okadigbo airport. 

“We have been in partnership with the Ebonyi state government before now, only that along the line, we had challenges and we stopped and we reported to the state government.

“We are here now to ascertain whether what we reported has been fixed. We have toured round the facilities, including the runway and it’s now perfect, and so, we are commencing flight operation as soon as possible” he stated.
