‘We will reduce cement price to #7000, #8000’, -Dangote, BUA, other cement manufacturers tells FG

The major Cement manufacturers in Nigeria; Dangote, BUA and larfarge has assured Nigerians of their preparedness to reduce cement price to #7000 and #8000.

The Nations News Nigeria reports that the planned reduction on the price of cement in the country, may be as a result of the alleged threat by the federal government to open boarder for the importation of cement.

The Cement manufacturers; Dangote, BUA and larfarge who met with the Representatives of the federal government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said the price of cement will drop to the aforementioned price soonest.

The planned reduction of the price of cement, was contained in a statement signed and made available to newsmen by the special adviser to the minister of works, Mr. Uchenna Orji, shortly after in meeting with the representatives of the federal government, that took place at the minister’s office, Mabushi Abuja.

The statement reads in part: Dangote cement Plc, BUA cement Plc, and Larfarge Africa Plc assures Nigerians that cement price will drop to #7000– #8000 per 50Kg bag in pursuance of the resolution reached between them and the representatives off federal government” it stated.
