He said he was in Calabar to identify with the Governor, Bassey Edet Otu for repositioning the State and also to offer the State Voice of Nigeria (VON) platform

“We will offer our own platform to the State to amplify the good works and good things happening here, we will report all tourism activities of the State”.

“Bringing trust in public media institutions will only be true if we are consistent, deliberate and intentional in creating truthful, believable narrative about our sub national States”, he stated

The DG stressed that Calabar is to Nigeria what Barley is to Indonesia, maintaining that anyone who is in Nigeria and doesn’t visit Calabar means the person did not come to Nigeria.

In his response, the state Deputy Governor, Peter Odey promised to improve on the Partnership of the State with voice of Nigeria, stressing that as a tourist destination, the collaboration with VON is very necessary

According to Odey, ” if we don’t tell our story, who will do it for us, that is why we will partner VON very strongly to market our destination”

He said coming to Calabar is very difficult that is why the State is in the verge of procuring four additional aircraft.

“We are in the verge of procuring four additional aircraft and we are moving from Cally air to Canon air, of course these are all the areas we hope to partner with VON so that the world will hear what is happening in the State” he said.
