Trigger-happy vigilante operative kills son to ex- DG Onitsha chamber of commerce

A trigger-happy vigilante officer whose name is yet to be identified at the time of filing this report, reportedly killed an 18years old boy John Paul Ajibo, a son to the former director general of Onitsha Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Mr. Dominic Ajibo .
It was gathered that the incident took place at Oluchukwu Oil and Gas Ltd, New Tarzan Junction, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, where he worked as an attendant .
Lamenting the untimely demise of his son, father to the deceased, Mr. Dominic Ajibo, disclosed that his son was killed when he was hit by multiple bullets from the Pump Action rifle of a reckless AVG operative at his chest, neck and hands within the the premises of Oluchukwu Oil and Gas Ltd, New Tarzan Junction, Nkpor.
Ajibo told newsmen that he was informed that the AVG operative’s rifle exploded as he lost control of it when it fell down, hitting his son on several parts of his body..
The devastated Ajibo family that hails from Ndiagu, Oda Village, Alor-Uno in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, expressed worry that since the incident occurred there has not been any arrest as the suspect freely moves in the streets shoulder high as if nothing happened.
The deceased father, who is currently the Catechist of Madonna Catholic Church, Nkpor, disclosed further that the corpse of his son has since been deposited at the Immaculate Heart Specialist Hospital morgue , Nkpor Agu.
The matter according to him has been lodged at Ogidi Divisional Police station that has reportedly transferred it to the homicide section of the State Police Command Headquarters, Awka, state capital, for further investigation.
Ajibo however lamented that since the murder of his son on October 9, 2024, the Police have not effected any arrest, nor has the leadership of AVG contacted the bereaved family.
“My family has been left heart-breaking, anguished and sorrowed over this avoidable tragedy. We are asking for justice to be done on this matter in order to assuage the blood of my son which was spilled for no just cause whatsoever”, he cried to high heaven.
He however, appealed to men and women of goodwill, including Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the state Police Commissioner, Mr. Itam Nnaghe Obono, to come to their rescue by bringing the suspect to face justice which will serve as deterrent to would-be future offenders.
