Road construction reduces insecurity in Bauchi Community – Market chairman, Umar

The Chairman of Gajin Duguri market in Alkaleri local government area of Bauchi State, Alhaji Malam Umar has said the construction of 90km road that linked with the Federal Government road by governor, Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has boosted business activities and reduced security challenges in the community.
Umar, disclosed this to our correspondent during site inspection by the state commissioner for Works and transport,Titus Saul Ketkukah.
He said that the road construction attracted customers from Kano, Lagos and other states of the federation to be coming to their community to buy their farm produce.
According to the chairman “At this time, we load 50 trailers with Cassava in 4 to 5 months that will be taken to south south or Western part of the country, we also load 20 trailers with sugar cane, and 10 trailers of onions every week.
“We are getting it very easy now to come out with our farm produce to sale for customers within and outside the state”
“In Gajin Duguri, we farm Sugar cane, Cassava and vegetables like onions, tomatoes and other vegetables.
“We suffered a lot before taking our farm produce to market but now everything is moving very well.
Umar said that the road construction drastically reduced the issue of arm robbers that they were blocking road to rob marketers but we are very happy because there is nothing like that again.
“Before the road construction, we use to sale our farm produce at very low price because there was not good road for customers to come and buy, but now they buy a bag at high price.
According to the chairman said that now that the road is completely constructed customers from Kano, Lagos and other parts of the country are busy going to Gajin Duguri to buy farm produce and take it to their various state for business.
The state commissioner for works and transport appreciate the constructors for their good job and urge them maintain standard.
Ketkukah urged the constructors handling the ongoing road at Duguri, the home town of the state governor, Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir to hasting the work to avert delay in the raining season.
