The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamawa State Command, has apprehended a 28-yr-old man, Bless Johnson, on charges of impersonation and obtaining money under false pretences.
The suspect was reported to the NSCDC Divisional Office in Mubi, and the command’s operatives acted swiftly to track and arrest him on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in Timbokum village, Ganye Local Government Area.

Initial investigations revealed that Johnson defrauded at least nine individuals, extracting several million naira by falsely promising political appointments, job placements, and assistance with international travel.
Records showed that a total amount of N9,085,000.00 was deposited into his account by victims. During the investigation, Johnson refunded N1,120,000.00 to some victims.
The suspect executed his scheme by obtaining contacts of prominent state personalities and luring victims with attractive but fraudulent offers.
He used these contacts to gain the trust of his victims and convince them to part with their money.
Commandant I.D. Bande, Adamawa State Commandant of the NSCDC, has ordered a continuation of investigations to determine the full extent of Johnson’s activities and to identify any accomplices involved.
He assured the public that the suspect will be prosecuted in accordance with the law upon the conclusion of proceedings.

The NSCDC reaffirms its dedication to protecting lives, property, and public confidence by bringing perpetrators of fraud and crime to justice.
The NSCDC will ensure that Johnson faces the full weight of the law for his alleged crimes.
The command is committed to investigating and prosecuting cases of impersonation and fraudulent activities to prevent others from falling victim to such schemes.
The NSCDC encourages members of the public to report any suspicious activities or information that could aid in the investigation and prevention of crimes.
