Just in: EFCC Arrests 11 Suspects for Internet Fraud in Uyo

The Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday announced the arrest of eleven suspected internet fraudsters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
This was contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Uyo by the Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Dele Oyewale.
He said the suspects, comprising nine males and two females, were intercepted and arrested along Ikpa Road in a fleet of cars following credible intelligence on their suspected fraudulent internet activities, lavish lifestyles, and naira spraying at events in the Uyo metropolis.
The statement reads in part:, “Cars recovered from them include: a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado with registration number ABC 553 LD Abuja; a Toyota Camry LE with registration number KKN 48 AE Akwa Ibom; two Honda Accord cars with registration numbers LSR 754 AQ Lagos and LSR 475 FN Lagos respectively; a Toyota saloon with registration number RBC 1898J Abuja; and a Lexus 300 saloon car with registration number JJJ 423 JK Lagos.
“Other items recovered from them include fifteen smartphones and ten bundles of N200 notes.”
He said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
