ICRITR, NEPC organize training for Onitsha traders, exporters

The International Centre for Regional Integration and Trade Research (ICRITR) in conjunction with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) have organised a day training program for Traders and Exporters in Onitsha, Anambra State.
The training program was held at Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA) Secretariat office which is located at Modebe Avenue Onitsha with the theme” Formalizing Nigeria’s Informal Cross Border Trade Through AFCFTA”
It would be recalled that International Centre for Regional Integration and trade research is affiliated to Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Anambra State.
Introducing AfCFTA and need to formalize the Informal cross border trade, Ngozi Eunice Egbuna explained AfCFTA as African Continental Free Trade Area which she said encompassed most African countries, stating that the body was established in the year 2018 by the African Continental free trade agreement.
Egbuna who is the Director of International Centre for Regional Integration and Trade Research (ICRITR), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, reminded participants that there is nothing produced in Nigeria that has no export value, emphasizing that Nigerians need to export everything they have through the aide of AfCFTA.
She also asserted that AfCFTA is in charge of all export products produced in Africa, stressing that AfCFTA is also supporting any item produced with good packaging in Africa and a forum set up to encourage African Manufacturers to export their products.
She further mentioned rules and regulations of AfCFTA as follows ; consistency of products, efficiency of products, qualities of the products, packaging of products and laboratory tests.
