Gov. Fintiri, NDLEA, NGO warn youths to desist from intake of hard drugs in Adamawa

A non-governmental organization on the aegis of Je Je riders international has cautioused youths against the use of hard drugs to destroy their destinies/future .

The chairman of jeje riders international, Ibrahim tizhe made this known during a flag of campaign on the fight against illicit drugs in Yola, the capital of Adamawa state .

The president of je je riders Association of Nigeria Mr. Tizhe said that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow, and that there is need to educate them on dangers of taking hard drugs or any substance that will destroy

 their future .

He however, called on all the stakeholders/ government at all levels in Adamawa state to stand against the menace of the intake of hard drugs in the society.

In his remark NDLEA Chairman, Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa (Retd.), represented by the State Commandant Femi Agboola Samson, praised the JEJE Riders for their commitment and passion in addressing the drug abuse crisis among young people.

He highlighted the importance of community-driven movements in combating the menace.

Meanwhile, Governor Amadu Umar Fintiri emphasised the  impact of drug abuse on young people, urging students to avoid engaging in such harmful activities to secure their future.

Represented by the Commissioner of Education and Human Capital Development, Umar Garba Pella, said Governor Fintiri expressed his unwavering support for the initiative, commending the JEJE Riders Association for spearheading the campaign

“Given Adamawa’s significant drug abuse prevalence, with 370,000 users representing 17% of the state’s population, the launch of this campaign in Adamawa is timely and necessary,” Fintiri remarked.

The event also featured award presentations to sponsors and members from Ghana, Togo, Cameroon, and Côte d’Ivoire.

Highlight of the event are comedy performances by Sarkin Dariya and Bless Me emphasised the harmful effects of drug abuse in a light-hearted manner.
