Ex-LP presidential candidate, Obi, commissioner, others mourn death of Nollywood actor, Monagu

The Former Presidential candidate of labour party, LP, in the last 2023 Presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi has mourned the death of the late Nollywood actor, Chief Amaechi Monagu.
The late Nollywood actor, Chief Amaechi Monagu was laid to rest at .his Obosi country home, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra state.
The State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Dom Onyenji, and the National executives of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, among others were present to mourn the late Nollywood icon,
The former governor of Anambra state, Obi who lamented the death of the icon urged the bereaved family to take heart, even as he prayed to God for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
The State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Onyenji, while mourning the late icon, described Nollywood as, “This is an industry for those who are creative, everyone should try to work hard to promote the ideal in the film industry.
“This is an industry for people who are creative. We as government are here to also mourn the Nollywood legend who has played his role and brought up scores in the industry,” he stated.
The National President of AGN, Chief Emeka Rollas Ejezie, who was represented by Chief Steve Eboh, urged the bereaved family to take heart, adding that God in His infinite mercy will give them the heart with which to bear the loss.
In her speech, the state chairman of AGN, Mrs. Anyaegbunam Chinyere Esther. Said that, “We lost somebody who was very precious to us, somebody people look up to as a father in the industry. He mentored so many of us.
“We urge the bereaved family of the deceased to take heart and God in His infinite mercy will grant them the heart with which to bear the irreparable loss,” she prayed.
Others who were present at the burial include: the National vice president Southeast, Anigbo Clement, Uwaezeoke, Udokwu from Ogidi, etc.
