Ex-gov, Imoke tasks Nigerian youths to boost economy through creativity

The former Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Liyel Imoke has called on Nigerian youths to be creative for a better future for themselves, adding that it is hard to survive in today’s world without creativity

Imoke made the remarks weekend during the 14th Career Day Conference for youths organized by The Bridge Leadership Foundation (TBLF) at the Calabar International Conference Center (CICC), Calabar

He noted that the creative economy allows them to showcase the diversity and richness of Nigerian culture on the global stage, stressing that through music,firm making, fashion and art, creative youths have the power to reshape global perception of Nigeria.

The theme for this year’s Conference, “The Creative Economy: Building Nigeria’s Future through youth innovation” had over four thousand youths drown across the length and breath of the country

Imoke who is the founder of the Bridge Leadership Foundation (TBLF) a non profit organization,founded in 2011 said; the theme for this year’s Conference focuses on the transformative potentials of the creative economy amidst challenges, such as limited resources to lead in innovation and drive economic growth.

He maintained that the engagement of youths in the sector would not only create job opportunities but also catalyzes societal change, addressing issues like poverty and environmental sustainability.

The founder pointed out that the two days conference had resource persons drown across the country who are outstanding in various fields through creativity.one of them, Chioma Ude, founder Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), stating that her creativity has provided opportunities for filmmakers, and bridge the gap between African film industries and the global market.
