Enugu: NLC, TUC Set to join nationwide strike, Monday

The Enugu State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and Trade Union Congress, TUC, have despite the last minute intervention by the Senate President, Goodwill Akpabio and other prominent stakeholders in Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, said it’s ready to join the nationwide indefinite strike on Monday.
The State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Fabian Nwigbo and his TUC Counterpart, Comrade Ben Asogwa made this known during an emergency joint meeting of the Labour Unions at the NLC Secretariat, Enugu state.
The Unions said that they are prepared to commence strike action, until the federal government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu meets their demand.
The leaders, however directed all affiliate unions to organize their members to effect a successful strike .
The NLC Chairman, Comrade Nwigbo said those thinking that it would be business as usual should have a rethink as labour would enforce the strike to the latter .
He advised labour leaders to be at the Secretariat by 7am tomorrow for take off for the enforcement of the strike.
