Ebonyi: NYSC coordinator, Oladeinde warns corpers to shun any act capable of breaching peace, unity of Nigeria

…..Commends Gov. Nwifuru, heads of security agencies for providing security, reconstruction of burnt male hostel

Ebonyi State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Mrs Foluke Oladeinde has applauded governor Francis Nwifuru for his numerous supports, which have contributed to the success of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream 11 Orientation camping exercise in the state.

Oladeinde made this known while addressing corps members and stakeholders during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream 11 Orientation, that took place at the NYSC permanent site, old MacGregor college, Afikpo.

She enumerated the governor’s supports to include; the reconstruction and commissioning of the burnt male hostel, the ongoing renovation of the multipurpose hall; augmentation of corps members feeding, provision of adequate security amongst others.

The state NYSC Coordinator, Oladeinde commended the heads of security agencies; the Army, the Police, Civil Defence, NDLEA, Fire Service, DSS, Man-O-War, the Legion, Red Cross amongst others, that contributed immensely to the overall success of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream 11 Orientation exercise.

She said: “Let me at this juncture, express my heartfelt gratitude to the administration of the governor of Ebonyi State, FRANCIS OGBONNA NWIFURU for his numerous supports which have contributed to the overall success of this year’s NYSC camping exercise, some of which include; the reconstruction and commissioning of the burnt male hostel, ongoing renovation of the multipurpose hall; augmentation of corps members feeding, provision of adequate security amongst others” she stated.

Oladeinde, also commended the Board Chairman, Richard Ugo Idike, and host of other Stakeholders who have always supported NYSC in the state.

“To our collaborating agencies; the Army, the Police, Civil Defence, NDLEA, Fire Service, DSS, Man-O-War, the Legion, Red Cross amongst others; we are very happy with you for the good work and sacrifices you made for the success of this orientation course.

She however, charged Corps members to be of good conduct, and should Shun any act capable of breaching the peace and unity of the nation, just as she tasked them to promote development, peace, unity and integration.

“I ask that you represent the scheme well where ever you may find yourselves. I assure you that I will make out time to visit you in your various locations here in the State. Endeavour therefore, to put into practice all you were able to learn during the orientation course; most importantly, I encourage you to take your Post Camp Skill Acquisition trainings very seriously, so as to consolidate on the training received here on camp for self-reliance.

“As you leave the camp to your various places of Primary Assignment, I admonish you to be law abiding, accommodating, diligent, accept the people of your host community, respect their culture and mentor the young ones. Remember, you are the mirror through which the world sees NYSC” she added.
