C’River NUJ council elects 1st female, Eso as it’s Chairman

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Cross River state Council has elected a female, Archibong ESO as it’s new state chairman.

The Nations News Nigeria reports that ESO works with the Nigerian Television Authority, Calabar.

She took over from Comrade NSA Gill who was appointed as Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of cross River State about two months ago.

It was gathered that ESO before her elevation, had since six years ago served in the council as financial secretary and various other positions.

The election was in a Special Congress held at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Center Calabar and was supervised by two National officers from zone ‘F’

Others who were also elected alongside with her include; Comrade Sunny Inah of the Cross river Broadcasting Corporation, (CRBC) Chapel Calabar, vice Chairman, Comrade Mike Abang, Business Day newspaper, from the correspondents Chapel, and Comrade Ekong Okpa, from the Chronicle chapel.

The new leadership of Cross River NUJ council Will run the affairs of the Union till next year April 2025.
