Bauchi varsity approves promotion of 6 professors, 5 associate professors

The Bauchi State Sa’adu Zungur University (ZASU) has approved the promotion of six academic staff to the rank of Professors and five others to the rank of Associate Professors.
This was contained in a letter signed by the registrar of the University, A.G. Hassan, and the secretary of the board council, and issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Bauchi.
“The newly promoted Professors were introduced at the 49th regular meeting of the University Senate, held on 25th July, 2024, at the Senate chamber of the University.”
The staff promoted to the rank of Professors include; Mustapha Garba Muh’d of the Department of Islamic Studies, Professor of Islamic Studies; Shuaibu Musa Ardo of the Department of Islamic Studies; Jacob Itse Dabo of the Department of Science Education; Abdussalam Murtala Alhaqiqi of the Department of Arabic; Zubairu Abubakar Madaki of the Department of Islamic Studies; and Sani Babayo Yana of the Department of Arabic.
The five staff promoted to the rank of Associate Professors include; Musa Adamu Wunti of the Department of Political Science; Eghosa E. Elija of the Department of Mathematical Sciences; Baba Tanimu of the Department of Islamic Studies; Yunusa Abubakar of the Department of Education Art; and Sani Abubakar Abdullahi of the Department of Arabic, Reader in Arabic Literature Education.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Fatimah Tahir, who also serves as the Chairman of the Appointments and Promotions Committee, disclosed that positive external assessment reports were received in respect of the promotion of the listed staff, as required by the regulations of the University’s A&PC.
“The promotions of the staff reflect the university’s commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, and the professional growth of its faculty.”
She equally pointed out that the promotion is a demonstration of the exceptional dedication of the respective staff to their fields of study and their significant contributions to both the academic community and the broader society.
“The promotion is also a testament to their hard work, research prowess, and unwavering commitment to the university’s mission and vision of fostering knowledge and development.”She noted.
