APC primary election: Ex-Abia gov. Kalu speaks on Gov. Nwifuru’s endorsement of Emegha for a 2nd term

The former governor of Abia State, senator Orji Uzor Kalu has applauded governor Francis Nwifuru for endorsing the incumbent Ebonyi state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Stanley Okoro Emegha for second term in office.

The Nations News Nigeria reports that the governor’s endorsement of Emegha for a second term in office as APC state chairman, is aimed at averting a huge crisis and division in the party ahead of the 2027 general election.

Recall that the primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ebonyi state is slated to hold on November, 2025.

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu who is representing Abia North senatorial zone in the national assembly, made this known while fielding questions by newsmen during his visit to Emegha’s country home in Edda community, Edda LGA of Ebonyi State.

According to him: “I’m very happy that the governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru endorsed the incumbent APC chairman Stanley Emegha for a second term in office.

“Infact, I’m planning to go and thank him (Nwifuru) and also to carry the Chinese investors I came with, to see him.

“If the governor endorsed him (Emegha) for the second term in office as the APC state chairman in Ebonyi, that’s a good development. I didn’t endorse him, but the governor he is working with, endorsed him. 

“The endorsement of Emegha by the governor, Francis Nwifuru is very good and I like it” he stated.
