Anambra: ‘Why I want to be councillor – Zik insist
By Cyprian Ebele, Onitsha
The President of War Against Cultism in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, Anyafuluobichukwu Zik, has revealed why he wants to be councillor of Obosi ward, and vowed to ensure provision of dividends of democracy to the people of his community.
The security expert, Zik disclosed this, while in a chat with journalists in the area.
He further vowed to spearhead the fight against cultism in the community if elected, adding that the fight against cultism has today yielded dividends as the community is now calm.
He said: “Before this council race, my people know what I can do because I have contributed to the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed today in Obosi. Before now there was serious crime especially on cultism. These cultists kill people and I have to form this body that sacked the cultists.
“So I am in the race to bring dividends of democracy meant for Obosi to Obosi. I don’t need to promise Obosi what I will do for them because they already know what I have achieved and what I will achieve if I get in there.
“There are so many things to be done in Obosi and the people are blessed like the Israelites. Obosi is a blessed community even if some cultists took over the community prior to my coming in and I thank God that today one can sleep with both eyes closed.
“My victory will be a victory for Obosi because everyone is happy with the way we operate to ensure lives and property are protected in the community.
“My people know I will go for quality representation if elected and they are massively behind me. My work on security is enough to give me victory even if there are other areas where I have made my positive impacts,” he further affirmed.
“I don’t need to promise Obosi what I will do because they already know I am equal to the task of providing democracy to them once I get in there. What informed my coming out is to assist in the community development,” he stressed.
