Anambra Police ends 3 day orientation lecture for newly decorated ASPs

The Anambra State Police Command Thursday successfully concluded a three-day orientation lecture for newly decorated Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) serving in the Command, aimed at strengthening professionalism, discipline, and leadership capacity among the officers.
The orientation programme, held at the Command Headquaters, Awka, was organised to familiarise the newly promoted officers with their expanded responsibilities, professional expectations, and ethical standards required of their new rank in the Nigeria Police Force.

Speaking during the closing ceremony, Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Finance and Administration DCP Ngozi Ezeabata representing the Commissioner of Police, emphasized the importance of integrity, loyalty,
And commitment to duty in the discharge of policing responsibilities. The CP charged the officers to remain guided by the principles of discipline, accountability, and respect for the rule of law while serving the public.
The Commissioner noted that the orientation lectures were designed to equip the officers with essential knowledge on leadership, operational management, intelligence gathering, public relations, and community policing strategies necessary for effective service delivery.
As part of the ceremony, the newly decorated ASPs were formally inducted into the Officers’ Mess, symbolizing their entry into the cadre of commissioned officers and reinforcing the values of camaraderie, professionalism, and esprit de corps.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Tochukwu Ikenga, (SP), the officers also took part in the re-administration of the Oath of Secrecy, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding official information and upholding the ethics and responsibilities associated with their office.
He said that the Command expressed confidence that the officers would utilize the knowledge gained during the orientation to enhance policing operations, strengthen community trust, and contribute meaningfully to the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security across Anambra State.
