‘Port-Harcourt Refinery will soon start generating 2 million liters of petrol, 2.2 million liters of diesel daily’ – FG
The Federal Government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced that Port-Harcourt Refinery is gearing up to start generating two million liters of Premium Motor Spirit, petrol, and 2.2 million liters of diesel daily.
The Nations News Nigeria reports that the federal government also announced that the refinery is currently at 80% completion.
The Minister of State Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, and Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Olajide Oshundun made this known through in a statement signed and made available to newsmen shortly after a visit to the facility with labour leaders on Thursday.
They explained that the two plants combined would have the capacity to generate 10 million liters of PMS daily.
President Tinubu’s led administration emphasized that the existing refinery facility will have a production capacity of 54,000 barrels per day. “Furthermore, the new plant, which is in its final stages of completion, is expected to commence production by the end of the year.
She explained that the old plant would begin with 54,000 barrels per day, which would produce two million litres of PMS and 2.2 million litres of diesel per day, while the new plant which is currently going through its last phase of completion would also begin production before the end of the year.
“The combined capacity of the two plants, when fully on stream, would produce 10 million litres of PMS per day”, the statement stressed.
