2027: Gov. Nwifuru vows to upgrade motor parks, if re-elected in Ebonyi
By Chukwuma Odii, Abakaliki
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru has vowed to improve the outlook and facilities of Motor Parks across the state if re-elected for a second term.
The Governor, represented by the Chief of Staff, Prof. Emmanuel Echiegu, made the promise during an endorsement ceremony by the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Ebonyi State Chapter, held at the International Motor Park, Abakaliki.
Addressing over 5,000 members of the union drawn from the 13 LGAs, Prof. Echiegu said the governor who was a member of the union has demonstrated good leadership across all sectors including infrastructure, human empowerment, education, and health.

“The governor has impacted good leadership in a lot of ways across every sector – infrastructure, human empowerment, education, and health, that is why I am not surprised by the numerous endorsements trailing his declaration for a second term,” he said.
The Chief of Staff, however, urged the union members to back their endorsement with action.
“It is not enough to endorse the governor for re-election. You must ensure you have your voter’s cards and come out en masse on election day to vote for Governor Nwifuru and all the APC candidates.”
“It is also not enough to vote for the governor alone. If the opposition becomes the majority in the House of Assembly, they can initiate impeachment and frustrate the governor’s administration,” he warned.
Earlier, the Chairman of NURTW, Ebonyi State Chapter, Comrade Godwin Chukwuemeka Mbam, said the union observed the governor’s commitment to growth and development of Ebonyi through impactful projects, peace, security, and inclusive governance.

He noted that the governor’s continuity would further advance the progress of the state and pledged the union’s support for Governor Nwifuru to come back for second tenure.
The union presented an endorsement certificate to the governor at the event.
