2027: Over 3000 APC members will soon defect to ADC in Ebonyi – Nwosu

The founder of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Ralph Nwosu has vowed that over 3000 members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ebonyi State will soon defect to ADC.

Nwosu who reiterated the preparedness of ADC to takeover power from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in the country, however lamented over alleged siphoning of local government funds by the governors.

He made this known while addressing mammoth party members during a one-day leadership summit organized in collaboration with the National coalition Alliance, NCA, held at Akadike suite, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.

Nwosu, lamented the attacks of its members by suspected thugs who allegedly pursued them out from the original venue at People’s club, and later relocated to Akadike suite Abakaliki Ebonyi State.

According to him: “ADC is not looking for trouble and we have respect for others, but if you look for our trouble, you have your self  to blame. 

“Those people who are attacking us will later come and beg us to admit them in our party. over 30000 members of APC including the governor will soon defect to ADC in the state.

“The APC’s comment on ADC is laughable. I can tell you, there is hunger in all parts of Nigeria. The APC is panicking because of ADC, and it’s because of that panic, they think that they can stop ADC from holding it’s events” he stated.

The Ebonyi state chairman of ADC, Jennifer Nwafor said:”ADC has it’s structures in the 13 local government areas and 171 wards in Ebonyi State. People are eager for a change in Nigeria and in Ebonyi state.

“I assure you that we will do everything possible to win power come 2027 in Nigeria.

Speaking on the attacks and possible arrest of its members by suspected government actors in the state, she said “I was disappointed when I heard of our members being attacked and arrested.

“This is a government that promised of giving equal level playing grounds for all political parties to operate, but this is what we are seeing today.

“It’s civilians that arrested them, not even police. They took them to police. We want there, made our statements and urged the police and DSS to arrest the perpetrators because this is an insult on us” she stated.

Responding, the national coordinator national coalition Alliance, NCA, Opoke Sunday, said “we are going to remove the ruling party in the country through our votes in the coming election. 

“All we are saying to Nigerians and to the INEC, is that there must be electoral reform. It is only the electoral reform that will grantee the credibility of the forthcoming election.

“The electoral reform will also make Nigerians to believe that this shame we are all passing through today can never continue” he stated.

Meanwhile, the state governor, Francis Nwifuru through his special assistant on inter Party affairs, Sunday Nwanbam said that the government has no hands in the woos of ADC in Ebonyi, adding that the state government has been very supportive to opposition parties in the state.
