Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Co-Director of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Betta Edu, has declared that Cross River State is fully committed to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid and Governor Bassey Otu’s second-term ambition in the 2027 general elections.

Edu, who made the declaration while speaking with journalists in Calabar, expressed confidence in the growing political support for the APC across the state, insisting that the party was working towards delivering overwhelming electoral support for its candidates in 2027.

She described the recently concluded APC rally in Calabar as a demonstration of the party’s unity, organizational strength and commitment to its political objectives, adding that the gathering had further reinforced the determination of party members to consolidate the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to the former minister, the growing identification of Cross River residents with the leadership of Tinubu and Otu was connected to what she described as their commitment to development, economic transformation and improved welfare for Nigerians.

She maintained that the APC was determined to sustain its political activities across the state, stressing that the party’s engagement with residents and stakeholders would remain important in building support ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Edu consequently called on APC members, women, youths and grassroots mobilisers to intensify community engagement, voter sensitisation and grassroots mobilisation to strengthen the party’s structures ahead of 2027.

She further emphasised the importance of unity and organizational discipline among party stakeholders, noting that sustained cooperation and effective grassroots coordination would be essential to translating the party’s support base into electoral participation.
