2027: Afikpo APC Stakeholders Close Ranks, Back Party Candidates
By Uchenna Okeh, Abakaliki
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have pledged to mobilize support for the party’s candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The stakeholders made the commitment after a meeting with the party leadership in Abakaliki, where they deliberated on strategies for strengthening the APC’s grassroots mobilization ahead of the polls.
Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, Timothy Nwachi, who disclosed this after the meeting, said the stakeholders had resolved to work collectively for APC candidates across the various elective positions.
Nwachi said the resolution covered the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.
According to him, the meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to review the political situation in Afikpo and fashion out strategies aimed at securing the support of voters for the party.
He said the stakeholders deliberated extensively on the strategies, but declined to disclose specific details of the plans adopted.
Nwachi, however, said the outcome of the meeting had demonstrated a collective commitment among the major APC stakeholders in Afikpo to support the party’s candidates.
“The resolution is clear: Afikpo will support the APC candidates across board,” he said.
Asked about other stakeholders, including Ude Nwachi, who are also contesting, and what the party intended to do differently to secure victory, the council chairman maintained that the stakeholders position was to support the APC candidates.
He said the decision reflected the commitment of the stakeholders to work together for the success of the party during the 2027 elections.
Nwachi added that the stakeholders would continue to engage party members and supporters at the grassroots as part of efforts to consolidate the APC’s presence across the local government.
He expressed confidence that the resolution reached at the meeting would strengthen cooperation among APC stakeholders and provide greater coordination for the party’s mobilization efforts ahead of the elections.
The development comes as political parties and their stakeholders intensify consultations and grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
