Anambra: Group task Gov. Soludo, Ohaneze to accord state burial on late ex-Gov. Ezeife

A Civil Liberties Organization, CLO, in Anambra State has tasked governor Charles Soludo to accord state burial to the former governor, late Chief Pius Chukwuemeka Ezeife, who according to them, served the state meritoriously.

The leadership of the organization made this known through in a statement signed by the chairman and the secretary, comrade Vincent Ezekwueme and comrade Chidi Mbah, and issued to newsmen in Awka, capital of Anambra State on Friday.

The group demanded that governor Soludo and Ohaneze Ndigbo should accord a befitting burial to the former governor Ezeife, in appreciation of his selfless services and sacrifices towards the socio-economic and political development of Anambra State, Southeast and Nigeria .

The leadership of the organization recalled the role played by the former governor, late Ezeife, who according to them, was in the forefront in the agitation for the socio-economic justice for Southeast region, election of Nigeria President of Igbo extraction, creation of additional state for southeast, unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, end to Monday sit-at-home home, improved security and strict implementations of Gowon’s post war three R, Reconciliation,Reconstruction and Rehabilitation and constitution of Southeast Development Commission.

“He (late Ezeife) laid the foundation of new Anambra State, introduced think home philosophy and weekly town hall meeting with cross seçtions of citizens.He left homongous amount of money in government coffers while leaving office.

“He (late Ezeife) played indispensable roles before, during and after November 2021 governorship election and ensured that people’s votes count. He also mobilized the people of Southeast and beyond to participate actively during last year general election” the group stressed.

The group, however called on both Federal and Anambra state governments to immortalize him (late Ezeife).

They equally pleaded to the National Assembly to expedite action towards the passage of a bill for an act establishing Southeast Development Commission, as greatest and best tribute to Late, Chief Ezeife.
