ADC Chieftain in C’River Protests inclusion of non members to policy manifesto c’tee
From Ene Asuquo, Calabar
A former Governorship candidate of ADC in the 2023 election in Cross River State, Effiong Nyong has protested the inclusion of the two members nominated from cross river to ADC 50 wise men and women policy manifesto committee
Nyong in a letter dated 29th January, 2026 addressed to the National Chairman of ADC through the National Deputy Chairman South, cited by our correspondence in Calabar said the two people from cross river state do not represent the interest of the party because they have not resigned from their former party the PDP.
He said, “This letter is my response and reaction to the recently released letter signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, titled as referenced above”.
The letter reads; “Consequently, I wish to state as follows:
That the names from Cross River State listed therein are alien to the ADC in Cross River State, as they are not members of the party, and
they have not in any way shown up or identified with the ADC in Cross River State”.
“They have not contributed towards any form of growth of the ADC in Cross River State, as they are still members of a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP”.
“They do not carry ADC membership cards, neither are they known in any ward or chapter of the ADC”.

He said they would have expected that committee members of the ADC, for any purpose whatsoever, would have been chosen from bonafide members of the ADC or from members of the coalition partners.
According to him,”It is very clear that what is being presented as the ADC in Cross River State to Nigerians and to the national leadership of the ADC is simply a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP that has transfigured into the ADC”.
He stated that In the 2023 elections, ADC collapsed its structures and worked with the Obedient Movement, securing 72 percent of the votes in the presidential election results.
The former National Deputy publicity secretary stated that the same ADC and Obedient Movement are now being undermined by a fractured faction of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP that shared 38 percent of the votes with other parties, including the ruling APC.
The letter said further, “Sir, it is necessary to let you know that the rest of the coalition partners comprising APC members, a faction of the PDP, the Labour Party, the Obedient Movement, SDP, and many other individuals who joined on their own are unhappy and restless”.
“As it seems, these individuals are determined to use the ADC platform solely for their narrow minded interests”, he maintained.
