2027: Only those with the fear of God should be voted to power – Archbishop Isong
From Ene Asuquo, Calabar
The Chairman of the Cross River State Chapter of the Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative, Archbishop Emmah Isong has insisted that power should only be given to politicians with the fear of God
Archbishop Isong made the disclosure in Calabar at the inauguration of a 30 man Executive Committee for the association.

He maintained that Cross River State Chapter of the Arise initiative is proud of the synergy and unity by Governor Umoh Eno and that they were marching on that to bring people together ahead of 2027 elections.
He said, “Power must be used by a man who fears God because it’s catastrophic if a man who does not fear God gets power”.
“The initiative is transported to us by Governor Eno who is a man of God and we are trying to lend our voice to ensure good governance is in place.
“It’s not only by binding the devil but by jumping into the waters of politics to mobilize members for elections.
“As religious leaders, we are not just looking at the next elections but the next generation and we don’t want evil men to take over our society”, he said.

He stated that the initiative is to galvanize those in the diaspora for elections because most voters return home during holidays without necessarily voting.
“We hope to galvanize the holidays and resonate with voters value and give value to these holidays”, he said.
